The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a statement on his NSosyal account about his meeting with Somali Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Daud Aweis Jama and Somali Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur following the "Panel on Türkiye-Somali Relations Amid Global Transformation".
In his post, Head of Communications Duran said:
"We met at the Directorate of Communications with H.E. Daud Aweis Jama, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the Minister of Ports and Marine Transport of the Federal Republic of Somalia, who honoured our 'Panel on Türkiye–Somalia Relations Amid Global Transformation' with their presence.
During our meeting, we discussed potential joint steps that could be taken between the two countries, particularly in strategic communication, media, public diplomacy, and institutional cooperation.
We reaffirmed our determination to strengthen further the communication aspect of the deep-rooted relations and solidarity between Türkiye and the friendly and brotherly Somalia. In this spirit, we agreed to enhance mutual exchange of experience and expand joint projects.
Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, relations between Türkiye and Somalia will continue to grow based on mutual trust and strategic partnership.”
