The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, declared in a post he shared on his NSosyal account that they welcomed the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia's decision to recognise Palestine as a state.
In his statement, Head of Communications Duran said:
"We welcome the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia's decision to recognise Palestine as a state. This step is a clear demonstration of the will to uphold international law and universal human values.
Countries that denounce Israel's assaults on the innocent Palestinian people in Gaza and recognise Palestine stand on the right side of history. We believe that this development will also encourage other countries and help Palestine achieve the status it rightfully deserves in the international arena.
We urge the international community to follow this historic step for the establishment of peace and justice. As Türkiye, we will continue to support the formation of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital and to strongly advocate for the legitimate cause of the Palestinian people on all platforms."
