The Presidency‘s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his social media account regarding the memorandum signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Head of Communications Duran included the following statements in his message:
"The memorandum signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, under the auspices of U.S. President Donald Trump, represents an important step toward achieving lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
We welcome this truly remarkable development for its promise for a new era of peace and prosperity in our region.
The window of opportunity for peace became possible after the Second Karabakh War, the most concrete manifestation of solidarity between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
Thanks to the regional diplomacy pursued by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, dialogue and search for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia strengthened and played a pivotal role in bringing us to this point.
Armenia has acknowledged that peace and diplomacy are more beneficial than war and tension. Despite counter pressures from various circles and lobbying groups, they have taken a brave stance in favor of peace.
Under the leadership of our President Erdoğan, Türkiye will continue to engage in diplomacy, support constructive initiatives, and maintain close contact with the parties to ensure stability in the region.
We look forward to help turn this process into permanent peace, prosperity and security for future generations."
