The Presidency's Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, shared a post on his social media account, expressing his condolences for the victims of the hotel fire at Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort.
In his post, Head of Communications Altun said:
"All of our institutions and organisations are continuing to work diligently in response to the fire that occurred at a hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort last night.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had talks with Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, Head of AFAD Okay Memiş, and Bolu Governor Abdülaziz Aydın immediately following the fire to receive information regarding the incident.
Furthermore, our President instructed Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, and Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu to travel to Bolu to undertake the required tasks.
A thorough investigation into the cause of the fire was immediately launched.
In the meantime, it is crucial for our citizens to remain sensitive and cautious against disinformative or manipulative posts and publications in both digital and traditional media.
During this process, our media outlets must give top priority to responsible broadcasting that respects public sensitivities.
The statements and information regarding the fire to be made by our relevant Ministers and other official institutions and authorities should be relied on.
We wish Allah's mercy upon those who perished in this heart-wrenching incident and a speedy recovery to the injured; we extend our deepest sympathies to Bolu and our nation."
