Presidency's Head of Communication Fahrettin Altun shared a post on his social media account on the documentary ‘Flag in the North: Cyprus' produced by TRT for the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
Head of Communications Altun stated the following in his post:
"On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the #CyprusPeaceOperation, TRT, renowned for its numerous historical documentaries that uncover hidden truths from the past, is presenting a meaningful production that focuses on the Turkish presence in Cyprus and the historical reality of the island for our nation.
'Flag in the North: Cyprus' focuses on the Turkish Cypriots' sovereignty rights from the Ottoman rule to the present day, as well as the attacks on these rights. The documentary takes an in-depth look at the Cyprus Peace Operation, which was carried out in 1974 in response to the invasion and genocide attempted by EOKA terrorism, as well as what happened before and after.
The struggle of Lefkosa (Nicosia) and Ankara for the just cause of Turkish Cypriots, as well as the various phases of global policy, are discussed using documents, archive footage, witnesses, and actors.
I sincerely congratulate the TRT family for this meaningful production that will be broadcast on the @TRTBelgesel channel tomorrow at 20:00."
