Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun, shared a post on his social media account featuring a video about the liberation of Syria from the Baath regime.
In his post, Head of Communications Altun said:
"Syria, once the symbol of history, civilisation, and coexistence of diversities, was unfortunately condemned to darkness under the oppression of the Baath regime...
The regime inflicted only bloodshed, tears, and oppression on the Syrian people.
Repression, torture, and death cells have been woven into the very fabric of fate for Syrians.
The sighs of children who cannot see the daylight in dungeons, as well as the oppressed whose towns have been reduced to ruins, filled the sky.
And eventually, the inevitable fate of tyranny unfolded.
The Baathist regime in Syria - one of the bloodiest and most ruthless in history- has collapsed.
The supposedly indestructible order of repression collapsed as the barriers of oppression crumbled one by one.
Today, our duty is:
To stand by Syria with the same unwavering resolve as we did during its fight for independence as it embarks on a process of revival, reconstruction, and recovery.
With this in mind, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will continue our struggle—just as we have in Syria—to uphold truth and establish justice in all oppressed regions across the world.
We believe, and we know that;
"A fairer world is possible".
