Head of Communications Altun speaks at Istanbul Energy Forum

Presidency's Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, spoke at the keynote session of the Istanbul Energy Forum organised by Anadolu Agency (AA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources under the theme "Common Future, Common Goals".

Emphasising that energy is one of the most critical elements of geopolitical competition on a global scale, Head of Communications Altun indicated that control over energy resources stands at the core of the global power struggle as its main element.

Stating the fact that the history of the modern world is also a history of colonialism when we look back, Head of Communications Altun continued:

"Exploitation of the non-Western world’s energy resources by the West lies at the heart of it. Against this exploitative policy, which lies at the root of global injustice, Türkiye, under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, fights for global justice with the call for a fairer world, while also engaging in a struggle for global justice and liberation through its investments in the energy sector.   Our country has taken giant steps today towards reducing dependency on foreign energy, increasing resource diversity, becoming an energy hub, ensuring energy supply security, maximising the use of its own resources, leading in renewable energy, and safely accessing nuclear energy sources."

Head of Communications Altun noted that these steps were made possible thanks to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's resolute and determined leadership, indicating that they are also extremely vital and significant steps for Türkiye's global reputation and brand value.

Head of Communications Altun highlighted that a key aspect of the Türkiye communication model, established under President Erdoğan's vision, is to further strengthen the brand value of Türkiye.

Head of Communications Altun highlighted that they place significant emphasis on promoting the nation's investments and vision within the energy sector as part of their efforts for this purpose. He explained that they are still engaged in activities aimed at this direction.

"Türkiye views energy not as a catalyst for conflicts and crises but rather as a means of fostering regional and global cooperation"

Head of Communications Altun stated that this forum, organised by Anadolu Agency in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, is a product of efforts to further strengthen the brand value of the country.

He underlined that one of the key objectives of the forum is to establish a platform for national and international cooperation in the field of energy and added:

"Most importantly, this platform serves as a channel for dialogue. Today, our world is confronted with significant global energy challenges amid geopolitical crises, regional conflicts, climate change-induced natural disasters, and disruptions in supply chains. It is evident that global collaboration is essential to address these complex and demanding challenges. As our President has frequently emphasised, Türkiye views energy not as a catalyst for conflicts and crises but rather as a means of fostering regional and global cooperation. Against the unidirectional, top-down asymmetric flow of knowledge that rules the energy sector, one of our objectives in this context is to establish a pluralistic ground for the production and dissemination of knowledge where all actors can speak for themselves and engage in a dialogue with each other. Undoubtedly, this asymmetry in the flow of information is one of the critical elements fuelling global injustice."

Altun stated that due to the patronage and support from President Erdoğan, this platform will serve as a robust alternative channel of communication and interaction in response to the global asymmetric information flow in the energy sector.

Head of Communications Altun expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan for his contributions, patronage, and actions on behalf of the country, wishing that the forum would be auspicious for the nation, the region, and all of humanity.
