In a post he shared in English on his social media, Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun reacted to the Austrian Foreign Ministry's statement on President Erdoğan's UN address as follows:
"Our President Erdoğan’s statement is not just an analogy; it is an effort to help those who support this genocide to look themselves in the mirror. It is clear from this reaction that the message has been received by the enablers and partners in crime!
It’s only those who feel guilty and ashamed of their own history would be disturbed by these remarks. And it is only those who aid and support Israeli state’s war crimes because of their historical guilt that would feel exposed.
President Erdogan used this comparison to make the point understandable to broad audiences to draw attention to one of the worst episodes of ethnic cleansing and genocide of our time.
This kind of reaction to his call for action by the international community is an example of the kind of Western complicity that encourages the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians.
History will not forget those who fan the flames of this fire just like how it has not forgotten those Nazi enablers and collaborators.
This defensive reaction is proof that our President Erdogan has spoken the plain and simple truth once again. Being appalled by the truth must be hard to get used to!
It’s a tragedy that those with a dark history with racism and ethnic cleansing are repeating the same mistake by supporting genocide in Palestine.
As President Erdoğan said, we have always been on the right side of history by opening our arms to those escaping genocide. We will continue to speak the truth and fight for justice."
