The Presidency's Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, spoke by phone with the Minister of Information of the new Syrian government, Mohammad Yaqoub al-Omar.
The conversation focused on collaboration between the new Syrian government and Türkiye in the areas of media and communications, as well as fighting disinformation.
Head of Communications Altun emphasised the importance of media and communications in this stage of the process, emphasising the need to accurately represent the Syrian people's true perspectives to the international public.
Head of Communications Altun highlighted the importance of taking decisive action against black propaganda, disinformation, and systematic lies, voicing their readiness to provide all types of assistance in these areas.
Head of Communications Altun stated that a delegation of technical specialists may visit Syria to formalise cooperation in communications.
Minister of Information of the new Syrian government, Mohammad Yaqoub al-Omar, noted that they will continue to collaborate with Türkiye, saying, "We will continue to work in the field of communications in Syria by adopting Türkiye as an example. We are grateful to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and you, along with our brothers and sisters in Türkiye, for your support during our most trying times."
The Minister invited Head of Communications Altun to Syria to engage in close collaboration.
