Head of Communications Altun: “Embrace life, not addiction”

Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared a message on his social media account regarding the High Council of Fight against Addiction, which convened under Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz at the Presidential Complex.

In his post, Head of Communications Altun said:

"I believe that the High Council of Fight against Addiction Meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, will be instrumental in bolstering our efforts to combat all forms of addiction.

One of the most significant addictions of our era that needs to be fought against is excessive and harmful cyber behaviour, also known as screen addiction, digital addiction, or technology addiction.

As the Directorate of Communications and other relevant institutions, we continue our efforts to protect our children, youth and families from the harmful aspects of digital technologies.

As a nation, we need to actively use the media, an important weapon we have in the fight against all kinds of addiction, while effectively neutralising the harmful aspects of technology that cause addiction.

In this regard, the participation and contribution of civil society, the private sector and our citizens to educational and awareness-raising activities conducted with a protective and preventive approach are crucial to stopping addiction before it starts.

We must continue our struggle against addictions together to create a Türkiye where our children and youth can actively and positively engage with digital technologies and media, ensuring they are not enslaved by the screen.

Embrace life, not addiction!"
