Head of Communications Altun attends screening of documentary “A Keribar Photograph”

Presidency’s Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, attended the screening of the documentary “A Keribar Photograph,” which portrays the life of the world-renowned photographer İzzet Keribar.

Following the symposium titled “Photography’s Journey from Analogue to Digital” organised by our Directorate, the documentary was screened to honour İzzet Keribar—a photographer who has spent a lifetime pursuing art and refinement while creating a valuable visual memory for both Türkiye and the world with his works.

Head of Communications Altun watched the documentary together with İzzet Keribar.

The documentary, which serves as a biography shedding light on Keribar’s life in the Beyoğlu, Eminönü, and Büyükada triangle, also offers a glimpse into the political climate of the past. It features a rich collection of photographs taken by the master artist over the years.

The documentary highlights Keribar's personal witness to many significant moments in modern history, from World War II to the Korean War, and from the September 6-7 Events to the 1980 coup d'état.

The documentary, which also features the views of Head of Communications Altun and many artists on Keribar's passion for photography and his art, received great applause from the audience.

Following the screening, Director Altun and Keribar posed for a commemorative photo in front of the documentary’s poster.
