The first of the "Century of Türkiye" panel series organised by our Directorate in Germany was held in Cologne.
The advancement and transformation that Türkiye has undergone from the past to the present were discussed in a panel moderated by Muhammed Ali Uçar in Wolkenburg in the city centre of Cologne, and an appraisal of its future goals was made.
Academician Hasan Basri Yalçın told an AA correspondent prior to the panel that the "Century of Türkiye" was developed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as a vision and that Türkiye is on its way to becoming a great power not only in its region but also on the global level.
Yalçın said, "It appears that this vision was actually developed to turn Türkiye into a global actor in the world. In recent years, Türkiye has undergone significant developments in its foreign policy, military, and domestic political structures. I think that Türkiye's new century will be the century to turn Türkiye into a long-time actor in the world; Türkiye is on its way to becoming a great power not only in its region but on the global level."
Journalist Zafer Şahin recalled that Türkiye will vote on May 14 on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic and emphasised the importance of these elections.
Stating that Türkiye has built a highly robust infrastructure during the last century, Şahin said:
"It established the corporate culture and became an effective state in the region. Türkiye has matured into a force that the world watches to see what it will say and how it will respond when a global crisis arises. This is why the new century is known as the "Century of Türkiye," because with its completed infrastructure, strong army, and political stability, we already have a say not only in the region but also in the world. We have all of the necessary infrastructure to become one of the leading countries in the upcoming period, and thus I believe Türkiye has a bright future as a country that has addressed its energy crisis in the century of Türkiye. With Allah's permission, it will be so; Türkiye will be the rising value of this century."
Academician Tacettin Kutay said that people residing in Europe are crucially important assets and capital, and this value cannot be measured materially.
Kutay: "We do not have the choice of severing our ties with our people residing in Europe, especially in Germany. They are far more concerned about our motherland than we are. We also meet with our citizens in Europe on occasion to discuss social developments in Türkiye, transformation, and political and social matters. The participants were highly enthusiastic, and we witnessed that we were among people who read the issues better than us, which delighted us much."
Nur Özkan Erbay, Coordinator of the Türkiye Brand Office under the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, gave information about the "Century of Türkiye" panel series and said that after Cologne, the panels will continue in Berlin and Hamburg.
Emphasising that more than 7 million Turkish citizens in Europe are the overseas heroes of Türkiye's country brand, Erbay stated that with these panels, they will talk about the areas in which Türkiye has become a world brand country, and they will present their plans, projects, and objectives.
