First Couple meets with women health and social care workers

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan met with women health and social care workers during a dinner at the Presidential Complex on the occasion of March 8 International Women’s Day.

Making a speech at the event, First Lady Erdoğan congratulated all the women in Turkey and the world on March 8 International Women’s Day, and said: “March 8 is one of the milestones of women’s struggle for their rights, for justice, labor and freedom especially in western countries. However, giving women the value they deserve cannot be reduced to a single day. Otherwise, all the events held and all the good words uttered on March 8 are doomed to remain incomplete and unfinished.”

Drawing attention to the digital transformation the world is going through, Mrs. Erdoğan underscored that daily lives and needs must be analyzed through different perspectives and that these analyses must be turned into products, and added: “That is why we want women to not only be mere workers but also to have an active role in designing and decision-making mechanisms. Turkey’s strength is women’s strength. We have a potential to be effective in the resolution of global problems as well. The world is in need of women’s sagacity and perception in every field, from the climate crisis to social issues.”
