12 professional First Person View (FPV) Drone pilots will shoot historical, natural and cultural attractions in 12 cities of Türkiye during the Türkiye Drone Festival organised by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.
The publicity meeting of the Türkiye Drone Festival was held at the Le Vapeaur Magipue restaurant in Sarayburnu Port.
Speaking at the meeting, Presidency's Deputy Director of Communications Çağatay Özdemir stated that the project in question was highly precious and said, "This project is a highly precious project for us. We considered organizing this project last year, but due to the pandemic and the conditions that affected all of us, we are only now able to do so."
Expressing that the project will significantly contribute to the promotion of Türkiye's touristic destinations, Özdemir said, “It is really precious for us that this project is now being carried out because we believe this project is critical to promoting Türkiye and contributing to Türkiye's international promotion strategies.”
Professional "FPV drone" pilots from around the world will compete to showcase Türkiye's most prominent destinations during the festival, which runs until August 28.
The competitors will shoot Türkiye's riches with FPV drones in the categories of history, belief, water, and health in 12 cities, namely, Antalya, Muğla, Van, İstanbul, Mardin, Hatay, Adıyaman, Nevşehir, Şanlıurfa, Denizli, Sivas, and İzmir.
As part of the festival, twelve renowned professional FPV drone pilots from across the world, including Luke Bannister from the United Kingdom, Ian Rinefort and Reme Raul Morales from the United States, Colas Feuillie, Antoine Gaetano, and Vladimir Metivier from France, Ivan Surikov from Switzerland, Sergi Hernandez Lopez from Spain, Oğuz Albayrak, Cumhur Büyüktaş, Berkay Efe, and Burak Altıparmak from Türkiye, will compete to capture the most amazing footages of Türkiye's historical, natural, and cultural beauties from the best angle and with the most stunning perspective.
The footages captured with FPV drones will be released on the "turkdronefest.com" website between September 20-25. The best video will be determined by a public vote on the competition's website between these dates. The award ceremony for the Türkiye Drone Festival will take place on September 30.
