Disaster relief continues to pour in from around the world for those devastated by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes centred in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, affecting 11 provinces.
While the United States of America (USA) began to establish a 100-bed capacity field hospital in Hatay for the survivors affected by the earthquakes, described as the “Disaster of the Century”, the Turkish-American community collected donations through social media platforms in a joint broadcast from the Turkevi Center in New York to provide housing for the earthquake victims.
A team of 32 Cuban medical professionals began offering medical services through interpreters in the units they were assigned to as part of the assistance for earthquake victims.
In addition, the Green Mountain Mahler Festival Orchestra organized a benefit concert at St. Michael's College, with proceeds going to earthquake victims. Bob Geldof, an Irish singer and songwriter, also announced that he would donate his guitar to the earthquake relief effort.
