Directorate of Communications publishes October 31 -November 6, 2022, Disinformation Bulletin

In the Presidency's Directorate of Communications' October 31-November 6 Disinformation Bulletin, it is stated that the charges in certain news articles regarding TOGG's production line, AFAD exercises, and rabies are fake.

In the bulletin, it is stated that the claim that "TOGG does not have a production line" is not true and noted that a total of 250 robots were commissioned on the production lines and a 1.6 kilometres test track was constructed. It is said in the statement that "Gemlik Campus, which is planned to produce 20 thousand TOGGs in the first year, will provide employment for a total of 4 thousand 300 people when the production capacity reaches 175 thousand units. The campus, inaugurated on October 29, is operating at maximum capacity."

Assertions concerning Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant

In the bulletin, it is said that some news reports concerning the radar system to be installed in the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant region included the assertion that "it may jeopardise the security of our country," and it is highlighted that law enforcement forces supervise and control the radars.

The statement states that "domestic and national radars under the control of the law enforcement forces of the Republic of Türkiye do not compromise or threaten the security of our country."

Allegations about the children bitten by stray dogs

The following statements are given in the disinformation bulletin, which includes the claim that "The rabies issue turned out to be a fake" was disseminated by some social media accounts, referencing the stray dog bites of two children in the Adilcevaz district of Bitlis:

"During investigations, the rabies virus was found in the saliva of M.E., who had symptoms including a fear of water, excessive salivation, irritability, and meaningless speaking. While M.E. was being treated, P.E., who did not test positive for rabies virus, was released after examinations. In the screening, 36 additional cases of bites that did not apply to any health facility were identified in the city."

Allegations regarding the AFAD exercise

Pointing out in the bulletin that certain social media posts on the AFAD exercise that would be held for the first time across the country on November 12 at 06.57 p.m. do not reflect the reality, it states that "It has been scientifically confirmed that the Drop-Cover-Hold on exercise doubles people's ability to move without panic during a real earthquake."

Allegation that a Chinese rocket will land on Türkiye

In the bulletin stressing that the assertion that China's Long March 5B rocket, which after releasing its load turns uncontrollably into the earth's atmosphere, "will land on Türkiye" is an example of disinformation that will raise public concern, it is stated that "The debris of the Long March 5B carrier rocket entered the atmosphere at 6.08 p.m. Beijing time on November 4 and landed on the south-central Pacific Ocean."

Allegations regarding the violation of TRNC airspace

The bulletin pointing out that the allegation in the Greek press that "US warplanes violated the TRNC airspace" is not true, states, "All kinds of activities that take place around the airspace of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are constantly and closely monitored by the relevant institutions. According to the data of these institutions, the US warplanes participating in the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) Exercise returned without violating the TRNC airspace during their activities."
