Directorate of Communications publishes a book on Türkiye’s successful fight against coronavirus

Presidency's Directorate of Communications published a book on Türkiye's successful fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The book titled "Global Pandemic of the Century: Türkiye's Successful Fight against Coronavirus" was issued on March 15, 2021.

The book, which tells about Türkiye's fight against coronavirus, also covers the steps taken by the government regarding education, economy, trade, working life and social life, and especially health, in detail.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan penned the foreword of the book "Türkiye's Successful Fight against Coronavirus".

Noting that as Türkiye, they passed through an extremely important test concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, which was the biggest crisis confronted by humanity in modern times, President Erdoğan indicated that the pandemic period, which completed its first year, was not over yet, and they attained significant objectives thanks to the patience, devotion and faith of the nation.

President Erdoğan reiterated that in the past year, the health systems of many countries, including some countries in Europe and the US, which were included in the developed countries category, collapsed, and the people were tried to be treated in the hospital corridors, and many people lost their lives.

Pointing out that, as Türkiye, they took all precautions and carried out all work meticulously during this period, President Erdoğan stated that they constructed hospitals that would cope with this disease, the world had difficulties in overcoming, under the most modern conditions.

Emphasizing that they initially implemented application-based process management in the fight against the coronavirus, President Erdoğan said that the Coronavirus Scientific Board was established on January 10, 2020, two months before the first case was seen in Türkiye, thus, with a delegation consisting of the experts on the issue, they began to make the global follow-up and evaluation of the pandemic.

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, who wrote the preface of the book, reminded that they had witnessed one of the most profound crises in the history of humanity in the last year.

Director of Communications Altun noted that the Covid-19 pandemic, which was one of the rare events that affected the whole world, regardless of developed-underdeveloped, north-south, rich-poor countries, has already left detrimental effects, the consequences of which concerned human life, health, economy, trade, politics, psychology and sociology.

Stressing that while some countries failed to an unexpected extent in this pandemic that would affect the coming decades, other countries set an example to the world within the spirit of unity and solidarity, Altun added, "Türkiye has taken its place in the category of successful countries which act with the nation-state unity and solidarity while fighting against this pandemic, that deeply shook the world. Türkiye has not put up this fight for itself only, but it has also fought to help other countries. Our fight, under the leadership of our President, for a world where conscience, humanity, equity, justice and truth prevail, has also manifested itself in this pandemic period."

Director of Communications Altun noted that Türkiye, with the measures taken, supports provided, works carried out, and incentives offered from the very first days of the pandemic had spent a year with the coronavirus in a much better condition compared to many other countries in the world.

Director of Communications underlined that the Turkish nation, who had been struggling to overcome the century's most significant health crisis through such solidarity, understanding, patience and faith, as to set an example for the world, should display some more patience, which was crucial for this pandemic period to come to an end.

Stating that Türkiye, where the vaccination process included free of charge all citizens without any discrimination, would also heal, in a relatively short period, all the wounds caused by the global pandemic, Altun added:

"Because we are a nation. We are also able to blossom all the feelings of being a nation takes and do what must be done. The book in your hand is of a testimonial nature to make history, representing in detail every aspect of the fight our state and our nation under the leadership of our President has put up against Covid-19 over the last year. It is my wish that the future generations who will live in health will remember with gratitude this epic struggle and better relay what we have done for humanity."
