Directorate of Communications organises “Türkiye Drone Festival”

Director of Communications Altun: “By capturing the historical, cultural, and natural charms of Türkiye from the air, this competition will significantly contribute to the promotion and tourism of our country.”

“Türkiye Drone Festival,” held by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications and where First Person View (FPV) drone pilots explore Türkiye’s historical, natural, and cultural attractions, will hold a public vote between December 5-25.

Professional and world-renowned FPV drone pilots from around the world have flown over 12 Turkish cities to capture images in the categories of “History, Faith, Water, and Health.”

From today, public votes will select which FPV drone best promotes Türkiye and the winners of each category at the Türkiye Drone Festival.

At the festival, visitors were given the opportunity to see the footage recorded by 12 experienced FPV drone pilots over Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Adıyaman, Denizli, Hatay, Mardin, Muğla, Nevşehir, Sivas, Şanlurfa, Van by capturing the historical, cultural, and natural charms of Türkiye from a variety of viewpoints.

Viewing and voting will be available at turkdronefest.com for the footage shot by the participating drone pilots, including Luke Bannister from the United Kingdom, Ian Rinefort and Reme Raul Morales from the United States, Colas Feuillie, Antoine Gaetano, and Vladimir Metivier from France, Ivan Surikov from Switzerland, Sergi Hernandez Lopez from Spain, and Oğuz Albayrak, Cumhur Büyüktaş, Berkay Efe, and Burak Altınparmak from Türkiye.

Citizens will be able to vote for the best aerial image of Türkiye until December 25.

Significant contributions to the promotion of our country

In a statement about the festival, Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said that for the first time, Türkiye’s important values were displayed from the air by well-known domestic and foreign FPV drone pilots, adding, “By capturing the historical, cultural, and natural charms of Türkiye from the air, this competition will significantly contribute to the promotion and tourism of our country.”

Altun stated that they hope to promote Türkiye from various perspectives by repeating this valuable competition concept in which drones rise on behalf of Türkiye, adding, “The FPV drones, which are quite trendy in the world, offer more realistic and immersive snapshots to the audience in the promotion of cities and the country. As a result, we organised a competition in 12 cities to introduce our important values in the categories of “history, belief, water, and health.” I wish the domestic and international FPV drone pilots involved in our project the best of luck. We invite all our citizens to vote in the competition until December 25, in which the unique charms of our country are captured from the air.”
