Directorate of Communications has launched the website “www.sumela.gov.tr” in order to promote the Sumela Monastery.
The Sumela Monastery, which was reopened yesterday by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following its restoration, welcomes visitors with the message “The hidden monuments of Anatolia come to light”.
The website provides detailed information on the history and architecture of the Sumela Monastery as well as the restoration works performed and also has a photo gallery.
Director of Communications Prof. Fahrettin Altun posted the following on his Twitter about the website: "We have taken another major step towards preserving the ancient culture of Anatolia by opening the Sumela Monastery to visitors following its restoration. You can visit the website www.sumela.gov.tr to learn more about the history and architecture of the Sumela Monastery and see its beautiful photos.
