The delegation from the Presidency's Directorate of Communications visited the Ministry of Information in Syria and held a meeting to discuss potential areas of cooperation in the fields of communication, media, and information.
The delegation, comprised of the high-level representatives of the Directorate of Communication's Departments of Public Diplomacy, Press and Publications, Public Relations, and Strategic Communication and Crisis Management, met with Mohammad Tafran, the Deputy Minister for Digital Media Affairs at the Ministry of Information of Syria; Ala Bassilo, the Director General of the State Radio and Television Organisation of Syria; Ibrahim Sued, the Head of the Department of Foreign Press of the Ministry of Information of Syria; and Layla al-Rifai, the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Information of Syria, in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
At the meeting, information on the organisational structure and activities of the Directorate of Communications was provided. Potential areas of bilateral cooperation in the fields of media, information, combating disinformation, public relations, press and publications, and strategic communication were also addressed.
During the meeting, the significance of enhancing institutional relations in the field of communications was highlighted, and it was noted that Türkiye is prepared to offer comprehensive support by sharing its knowledge and experience in the mentioned areas.
Representatives of the Syrian Ministry of Information, while addressing the challenges faced by their ministry and affiliated institutions in the relevant fields, expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to benefit from the expertise and experience of the Directorate of Communications, particularly in the fields of combating disinformation, digitalisation, and press and broadcasting.
