Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared his remarks on his Twitter account with regard to the attack by a gunman in the German city of Hanau that killed 9 people including 5 Turkish citizens.
Altun condemned the attack, saying, “The attacks carried out in Hanau have once again revealed the extent the rising racism, anti-Islam and far-right tendencies reached in Europe.”
Altun wished God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attack and extended his condolences to their families. Altun noted the following:
“We hope that this spiral of violence based on racism, which is unfortunately very common in Europe, will come to an end, and we demand that the investigation into the attack be conducted meticulously, that all perpetrators of the attack be apprehended and punished with the most severe penalties.”
