In his message published in Kazakhstan's state newspaper Egemen Kazakhstan titled "Nowruz, the symbol of our brotherhood," the Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, "Strong Turkic union will become an effective power in the world, contributing significantly to global tranquilly, prosperity, and peace.''
Recalling that Nowruz is an ancient festival heartily accepted and celebrated for centuries in the vast Turkic territory stretching from Central Asia to Anatolia, Director of Communications Altun stated that it signals the beginning of spring, the awakening of the soil, and the resurrection of the seed, symbolising hope and fertility, and hence is known as the "new day."
Director of Communications Altun said, "Praise be to Allah, as the Turkic world, we are experiencing the joy and excitement of reaching the Nowruz Feast during the blessed month of Ramadan this year. This brings us even more joy and delight. In the Turkic world, Nowruz symbolises unity. This special day strengthens the feelings of solidarity, unity and togetherness among the Turkic peoples."
Noting that Nowruz was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 and that the United Nations General Assembly officially proclaimed March 21 as International Nowruz Day, Director of Communications Altun stated:
''Thus, the Turkic world's shared cultural value will not only promote social and cultural rapprochement in the eyes of the world but will also have special meaning in terms of promoting and bringing Nowruz to international dimensions. Nowruz is also an indication of the Turks' will to uphold and preserve their traditions and cultures. As has been witnessed, the Republic of Kazakhstan, like every other Turkic state, marks Nowruz in the most distinctive manner; in this regard, it has made an admirable contribution to the ancient culture of the Turkic world."
"Defending our common interests is of utmost importance"
Emphasising the importance of preserving common values and reinforcing the ties between the Turkic world, Director of Communications Altun said:
"The Turkic world is the legacy of numerous civilisations that have endured arduous challenges over the course of history and have always supported each other. We have an obligation to firmly pass on this legacy to the future generations. Union among the Turkic people is attainable through the preservation of shared cultural values, the expansion of economic cooperation, and bolstering political solidarity. It is important that we stand by one another, protect our common interests, and act together.
A strong Turkic union will become an effective power in the world, contributing significantly to global tranquillity, prosperity, and peace. For this reason, I would like to state that as the Republic of Türkiye, a state whose roots go back centuries and which has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, we will exert great efforts to turn the next century into the Turkic Century, encompassing the Turkic states with the motto 'Century of Türkiye.'
"The future of our countries is bright, and our path ahead is clear"
Pointing out that many reforms and innovations in economic, social, military and political fields have been achieved under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Director of Communications Altun said that these have allowed Türkiye to strengthen its position in regional and global affairs.
Director of Communications Altun went on to say:
"As Türkiye, we will work with all our strength to move forward arm in arm with the Turkic world, particularly the friendly and brotherly Republic of Kazakhstan, and to achieve in unity and solidarity the goal of introducing the 'Turkic Century' within the framework of our common values. I must take this opportunity to express the necessity of making progress and developments not only economically and politically but also socially and culturally for our Turkic Century project, which we aim for in the 21st century.
I find it valuable that Kazakhstan, the Term President of the Organisation of Turkic States, has put forward the concept of TURKTIME with this understanding and that it has determined culture, integration, reforms, information, trust, investments, mediation and energy as priorities and I believe that the key to achieving these goals is to increase coordination and integration. The participation and support of all segments of society in our countries in this process is important. The future of our countries is bright and our path is clear, but in order to reach this goal, it is a necessity to fight against all obstacles and problems that may arise as the Turkic world in unity and solidarity, and we have the power to do so."
"We feel proud of Kazakhstan's achievements and share in its moments of grief"
Director of Communications Altun emphasised that he believes that Türkiye and Kazakhstan will take firm steps towards a strong future with their deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood, shared culture, hearts beating together and noble people.
"We feel proud of Kazakhstan's achievements and share in its moments of grief. Director of Communications Altun, who stated, "We know that our feelings are mutual with our Kazakh brothers and sisters," emphasised that the poem "To My Brother Out There," written by Kazakh poet Magjan Jumabay for the War of Independence, exemplifies this emotional unity.
Director of Communications Altun stated, "Our late Prime Minister Adnan Menderes had the same thoughts when he decided to bring our Kazakh brothers and sisters into Türkiye in the 1950s. The Turkish people's excitement when Kazakhstan won independence, as well as the Kazakh people's strong solidarity following the earthquake in our country last year, are all the product of these shared feelings."
Call for cooperation in combating disinformation
Director of Communications Altun remarked in his statement that they are delighted to see that this sympathy between Türkiye and Kazakhstan has transformed into concrete cooperation and that relations between the two countries have progressed to the level of an improved strategic partnership, and went on to say:
"We believe that we have a lot to accomplish together in the field of communication and media. The primary focus of collaboration in this area should be combating disinformation. With our efforts as the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, we are dedicated to ridding our globe of misleading, twisted, and manipulated content, particularly our country, region, and kindred geography, and we are waging a blessed war for truth. We believe it is critical for brotherly Kazakhstan to support us in this struggle.
On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire Turkic world, particularly the fraternal Kazakh people, on Nowruz. Again, I wish that the month of Ramadan contributes to the peace and prosperity of the entire Turkic and Islamic worlds."
