Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun celebrated the May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.

In the message he shared on his social media account, Altun said, "With determination and our youth, we carry the torch that was lit in Samsun in 1919 to the present and the future, 103 years later. I celebrate the anniversary of our May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day."

In the video shared by Director of Communications Altun and produced by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, it is stated that on May 19, 1919, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk took the first step toward full independence and liberation from war and enemy occupation.

In the video, it is emphasised that the effort we make to rise to the level of contemporary civilisations also shapes the future as we strive to build a strong and great Türkiye, and the following is also noted:

"We are growing, developing, and competing in all fields, from industry to education, from culture to agriculture. On this difficult path, our youth bear the greatest duty and responsibility. For a Türkiye that looks to the future with hope, investments in youth and sports continue to increase. Our young people continue to work, produce, and develop for the next century of Türkiye, thanks to the universities opened in all 81 provinces, the resources allocated for education abroad, increased education scholarships and loans, incentives for young investors, and numerous other initiatives. Thanks to the countless billions of liras invested in sports and its infrastructure, many more of our young people can now participate in professional competitions in a variety of fields and achieve outstanding success. With determination and our youth, we carry the torch that was lit in Samsun in 1919 to the present and the future, 103 years later. I celebrate the anniversary of our May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day."
