Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, "Türkiye made a revolution, so to speak, exactly four years ago, when it opted for the Presidential System of Government through national votes. With the new system, Türkiye has stripped itself from the futile daily political discussions and taken a significant step toward our independence, stability, and future."
In a post on his Twitter account, Director of Communications Altun commented on the fourth anniversary of the adoption by popular vote of the 18-article constitutional amendment establishing the Presidential System of Government.
Stating that Türkiye made a revolution, so the speak, four years ago, on April 16, 2017, by opting for the Presidential System of Government, Altun noted, "Türkiye has stripped itself from the futile daily political discussions and taken a significant step towards our independence, stability and future. With the Presidential System of Government, the separation of powers has been firmly established in our country, the period of rapid decision-making and implementation has begun in the administration, and the mechanism of checks and balances has become more functional and active."
Noting that Türkiye gained a great impetus in the regional and global arena under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership and made consecutive revolutions in a wide range of areas from education to health and economy to trade, Altun said:
"Those who are disturbed by the growth rate of our country have started a non-stop slander and defamation campaign against our country and our nation. They want Türkiye to be overwhelmed by artificial agendas, unable to see its future. They say, 'Throw dirt enough, and some will stick'. The smears they continue to spread about our nation are part of a calculated plot. Longing for the old Türkiye, they are in an attempt to regain their privileges. There is no slander, no lie that they will not tell for this. The extent of their lies and slanders grows with each passing day. They have added a completely different dimension to their lies with the slander of the '128 billion dollars lost' in recent days. They began a race to discredit our institutions, particularly the Central Bank, simply because they fulfilled their duties. Our august nation has been observing in astonishment the delusions and hypocrisy of this mentality for a long time. They are not ashamed to lie. They make an alliance with the terrorist organisation PKK and then speak of the homeland and nation. They get caught with the IMF officials in hotel lobbies and then tout for a national economy. We once again call out to those who rely on the dirty campaigns managed from a single centre, 1- There is not a single penny lost, 2- Regardless of their slanders, we will work tirelessly for the safety of our august nation, the unity and solidarity of our country, and for a great and powerful Türkiye."
