Director of Communications Altun: "500,000 Syrians have returned to the liberated regions beyond the border to date. Those who stand against our efforts to ensure the voluntary and dignified return of our Syrian brothers and sisters to the regions we have secured and to find a lasting solution to the issue are now engaging in provocations with cold war-era psychological warfare techniques."
In a thread shared on his social media account, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, "Türkiye has played an active, stabilising, and order-restoring role in response to the extraordinary events in its region, particularly the Syrian crisis, and has ensured its own security while also pursuing a realistic and humane migration policy."
Director of Communications Altun noted that the strategy of eradicating terrorism at its source was implemented during this process, with numerous successful cross-border operations carried out in this regard under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Director of Communications Altun remarked that they were once again commemorating the martyred heroes of these operations with mercy and added:
"Türkiye has carried out these operations to fight terrorist organisations and their patrons on the one hand and to establish peace corridors just beyond our borders on the other. As a matter of fact, 500,000 Syrians have returned to the liberated regions beyond the border to date. Those who stand against our efforts to ensure the voluntary and dignified return of our Syrian brothers and sisters to the regions we have secured and to find a lasting solution to the issue are now engaging in provocations with cold war-era psychological warfare techniques.
Under the leadership of our President, all our relevant institutions, our Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of National Defence in particular, closely monitor the issue of migration inside and outside our borders, take the necessary measures, and never allow any disorder. The Republic of Türkiye is great and powerful. While prioritising the improvement of our citizens' safety and welfare, we will also strengthen our position as a regional power and take strong steps towards becoming a global actor."
