Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared the efforts exerted by Turkey in the last 24 hours as part of the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Altun shared on his Twitter account the measures taken by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Health, and made the following remarks:
“As our nation increases social distance within the scope of the fight against coronavirus, we are expanding the front against the virus. The measures we have taken in the last 24 hours will accelerate our struggle, and hopefully the cooperation between the state and the nation will help us get through this process.”

“Drugs from China against Covid-19 have been distributed to 40 cities via air ambulances.
It was decided that all markets would provide services between 09:00 and 21:00 and the number of customers that could be present in the markets at a given time would be limited.
It was decided that urban and intercity transport vehicles could only use 50 per cent of their passenger capacity.
It was decided that Halkbank would provide 25 thousand TL cash loan and 25 thousand TL commercial card support to all tradesmen without discrimination.
In terms of tax processes, sectors and business lines within the scope of force majeure were identified. In addition to the sectors, 1.9 million taxpayers who have income from commerce and agriculture or who are self-employed were included under the scope of force majeure.
Payments regarding withholding tax returns and VAT declarations for April, May, and June have been deferred by 6 months. Tax and VAT declarations to be submitted in these months have been postponed to July 27.
Declarations and payments of taxpayers who are unable to leave their homes because they are older than 65 years of age or suffering from chronic illness have been postponed until the ban is lifted.
The Centre for Fight against Coronavirus was established within the Ministry of National Defence for managing and monitoring the precautionary measures regarding the pandemic at units and headquarters.”
