The Presidency's Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, sent a video message to the "Siraj al-din Urmawi Symposium" organised under the auspices of our Presidency and with the support of Hacı Bayram Veli University and Konya Metropolitan Municipality.
Prior to the symposium, a prayer service was held at Musalla Cemetery, where Siraj al-din Urmawi, who is regarded as the founder of Turkish-Islamic thought in the 13th century, is buried.
Then, the message of the Presidency's Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, was delivered at the symposium at the Mevlana Cultural Centre.
In his message, Altun stated that he believes that this event will make valuable contributions to the academic community.
Director of Communications Altun stated that Turkish-Islamic thought and the numerous works produced within this framework have not been fully comprehended in the history of world thought and that they remain undiscovered treasures, and added, "Siraj al-din Urmawi, who rose to prominence with his diplomat identity and outstanding merits in the fields of logic, philosophy, law, and theology, accomplished the difficult task of being the chief judge during the crisis times of the Anatolian Seljuk State."
Altun emphasised that thanks to these and similar studies, the Century of Türkiye will be the future of a generation that understands its ancient experience and core values in thought, art, politics, technology, and economics and determines its course accordingly. Altun noted the following:
"Within the framework of the future vision put forward by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it is only possible to demonstrate the will to build a more peaceful, more prosperous, more humane, and brighter world in the Century of Türkiye, which is the herald of a revolution that will take place not only for our country but also for our region and the world, by undertaking this responsibility properly, protecting the legacy of knowledge and our tradition of wisdom, and revitalising it. Thus, our beloved nation will once again bring forth from its heart the great figures who infused Anatolia with knowledge, wisdom, and love, such as Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, Yunus Emre, Haji Bayram- Veli, and Siraj al-din Urmawi, and will ensure peace, brotherhood, knowledge, and prosperity, as well as serve as the source of wisdom for all humanity in the Century of Türkiye."
