Touching upon the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Izmir, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, "The damage assessment work and debris removal operations have started rapidly on the destroyed buildings. Our state stands in solidarity with our beloved nation with all its institutions and organizations."
Director of Communications Altun shared a post on his Twitter account, wishing a speedy recovery to all citizens affected by the 6.6-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Seferihisar district of Izmir and said, "The damage assessment work and debris removal operations have started rapidly on the destroyed buildings. Our state stands in solidarity with our beloved nation with all its institutions and organizations."
In another statement he made on his Twitter account, Director of Communications Altun warned against provocative posts and statements in the aftermath of the earthquake. In his post, Altun said “Our sorrow is one, our grief is one. 83 million is of one heart and all our prayers are with our Izmir. Our nation will not forgive those who, in this sensitive period, try to create a rift by playing on our society’s nerve endings. Our expectation from our media is not to make room for these provocateurs. May our unity and solidarity be everlasting.”
