In a post he shared on his Twitter account, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that Türkiye is ready to take every step to ensure regional peace and stability under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Director of Communications Altun shared a post including a video regarding "Türkiye-Ukraine relations" on his Twitter account.
Director of Communications Altun remarked that thirty years had passed since Türkiye and Ukraine established diplomatic relations, and the two nations' strategic partnership was growing stronger by the day, adding: "Our country is ready to take every step to ensure regional peace and stability under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan".
The video shared by Director of Communications Altun stresses that Türkiye and Ukraine have a strong relationship based on mutual respect and cooperation, recalling that, in 1991, when Ukraine declared its independence, Türkiye was one of the first countries to recognise its sovereignty.
Underlining that February 3 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ankara and Kyiv, the video also states that over the past two decades, ties between both countries have continued to strengthen as the relationship amongst allies was upgraded to a strategic partnership in 2011.
According to the video, the visa-free travel regime has been in effect since June 2017, and it continues as follows;
"The warming of relations has also had a positive impact on commerce with bilateral trade increasing from $ 4.6 billion in 2020 to $ 7.4 billion in 2021, and the $ 10 billion trade target is well in reach. Türkiye hopes that the new free trade agreement, signed under the leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will carry trade between allies to new heights. Ankara and Kyiv closely cooperate in tourism, commerce, education, investments, the sharing of technology, and the defence sector. Turkish drones have played an essential role in protecting Ukraine's national security, and Türkiye looks forward to increasing its defence cooperation with joint projects in the future. Diplomatically, Ankara has been a vocal supporter of Ukraine's territorial integrity and continues its call for the return of Crimea. Türkiye also stands ready to serve as a mediator to ease tensions between Ukraine and Russia, and supports all diplomatic initiatives towards a peaceful resolution. The region’s security, stability and serenity are a top priority for Ankara."
