Director of Communications Altun opines on MİT hosted CIA-SVR meeting

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun opined on the meeting between the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) hosted by the Turkish National Intelligence Organisation (MİT), saying, "Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have added another significant brick to the wall of global peace."

In a statement to the Associated Press, Director of Communications Altun confirmed that CIA Director Bill Burns and the head of Russia's SVR Sergei Naryshkin met in Ankara, hosted by MİT, and added, "This meeting is another significant brick added to the wall of global peace by Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."

Noting that the meeting covered threats to international security, particularly the deployment of nuclear weapons, Director of Communications Altun reported, "Türkiye, which earlier convened the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia and mediated the grain deal, will continue to negotiate for peace with all parties and will not be hesitant to take the initiative in this process."
