Presidency's Director of Communications Altun said, "This conspiracy launched by FETO with the organization members within the judiciary was eliminated once again by the superior leadership and determined stance of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan", regarding the stopping of National Intelligence Organization (MIT) trucks in 2012.
In a post on his Twitter account Director of Communications Altun recalled that today marked the 9th anniversary of the conspiracy recorded as the "February 7 MIT Crisis" in Turkish political history.
Stating that by trying to prosecute MIT Undersecretary and senior MIT officials for performing their essential duties FETO targeted the Government of the Republic of Turkey, Director of Communications emphasized that the intelligence agencies perform a number of confidential tasks related to the security policies of the states, with intelligence-specific rules.
Noting that, in this sense, targeting MIT activities carried out at the government's behest meant, in reality, targeting sovereign Turkey and the government, Fahrettin Altun stated the following:
"At a time when Turkey has shown a rapid economic and political rise in the international arena and the direction of our state has been tried to be determined only by Ankara, the primary target of the conspiracy is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan himself, who is in the service of our nation. This conspiracy launched by FETO with the organization members within the judiciary was eliminated once again by the superior leadership and determined stance of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Our leader has taken our state and nation out of this coercion with the power he has received from our august nation. The blessed struggle waged by our President, together with our august nation alone, disrupted the Gezi uprising, the 17/25 conspiracies, and the July 15 coup attempt. Our august nation will continue to eliminate all kinds of treacherous attempts under the leadership of our President."
