Fahrettin Altun, the Presidency's Director of Communications, shared a video on his social media account telling the story of Recep Gündüz's father, Yaşar Gündüz, who was martyred on the July 15 Martyrs' Bridge during the FETO coup attempt.
In his post, Fahrettin Altun noted the following:
"July 15 is the glorious victory of our noble nation, which draws its strength from history, as in Çanakkale, destroyed the betrayal and invasion attempt in its faithful heart by shielding its chest against powerful nations, and making this beloved homeland a homeland again. We pray for Allah's mercy on our martyrs, who heroically resisted the invasion and treacherous coup attempt, and repulsed terrorist attacks against their national will, unity, and integrity; we pray for patience for their families, and healing for our veterans."
