Speaking at the "Heroes of the Century of Türkiye" event held at Beylerbeyi Stadium in cooperation with our Directorate, the Istanbul Governor's Office, and Üsküdar Municipality, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated, “Those who took to the streets and squares, risking their lives that day for their homeland, nation, and ummah, are the heroes of the Century of Türkiye."
Director of Communications Altun said, "July 15 was a coup attempt by terrorists dressed in military uniforms. In fact, July 15 was an invasion attempt that appeared to be a coup."
Emphasising that the invaders and imperialists who wanted to bring this country to its knees on July 15 were attempting to do so by means of a bloody-handed terrorist organisation, Director of Communications Altun added:
"July 15 was an attempt to eliminate free and independent Türkiye. July 15 was an attack on our independence and future. July 15 was a dagger that was aimed at the nation's heart. Yet, this august nation did not succumb to the heinous terrorist organisation FETO or the imperialists who support it. This august nation, led by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, fended off terrorists, coup plotters, and invaders. In this respect, July 15 marks the date of the nation's victory. In this respect, July 15 is a testimony to the power of the nation's will. It is proof of how deeply established democracy is in Türkiye. In this respect, July 15 epitomises our nation's unity and integrity. July 15 represents the hope of the oppressed and the nightmare of the imperialists in this sense. July 15 is an epic, one that the nation and its leader co-wrote."
According to Director of Communications Altun, the nation responded to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call that said, "I have never known a power above the power of the nation. I urge my nation to take to the country's squares." They should take to the streets and put these traitors in their place," ensuring that FETO and the imperialists behind it did not succeed.
Director of Communications Altun noted that on July 15, the nation displayed a glorious resistance that will go down in international political and democratic history and added, "I salute all the heroes of this glorious resistance. May Allah bless the souls of our martyrs. May their souls rest in peace in heaven. First and foremost, our martyrs, veterans, and heroes, who took to the streets and squares, risking their lives that day for their homeland, nation, and ummah, are the heroes of the Century of Türkiye."

"The heroes of July 15 are the heroes who gifted us the Century of Türkiye," said Director of Communications Altun, referring to the main title of their July 15 commemoration event, "Heroes of the Century of Türkiye."
Director of Communications Altun emphasised that the state is considerably stronger today because FETO was much more thoroughly purged from state institutions after the invasion attempt that appeared to be a coup was thwarted on July 15 and said:
"In fact, this poisonous structure has served as the imperialists' agents among us for years, allowing numerous conspiracies and anti-democratic interventions. As the influence of this nefarious organisation decreased, our state's manoeuvrability grew, and various steps were taken to benefit our country, particularly in the fight against terrorism. It was only after July 15 that the strategy of eradicating terrorism at its source could be implemented. In the context of our country's fight against terrorism, operations like Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, Peace Spring, and other effective military operations have allowed us to secure extremely significant achievements.
So far, we have made significant progress in the fight against FETO. The same perspective applies to the fight against FETO as it does to our fight against DAESH and the PKK to eradicate terrorism at its source."
"Wherever it is in the world, we are entering FETO's den"
Director of Communications Altun noted that President Erdoğan has a fundamental tenet: "Our President, when it comes to such filthy and poisonous structures, says, 'Attack, attack, attack!' Only attack; no defence. Wherever it is in the world, we are entering FETO's den. Wherever they may flee, our state will catch the members of this treacherous terrorist organisation and turn them over to Turkish justice."
Noting that Türkiye is a state that instils confidence in its friends and fear in its enemies, Director of Communications Altun stated that it was possible to build the Presidential System of Government after July 15 and that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan became the first president of the Presidential System of Government in 2018.
Director of Communications Altun stated that since the introduction of the Presidential System of Government, the state has worked more swiftly, robustly, effectively, and collaboratively to serve national interests.
Emphasising that Türkiye can now act on its own behalf and agenda, Director of Communications Altun said, "The Century of Türkiye is the vision project for a powerful and prosperous Türkiye. The 'Century of Türkiye' is a project that offers peace, stability, and prosperity not only to Türkiye, but also to our region and the entire world."
"We strive to make this world a fairer place"
Stating that the Century of Türkiye began on May 28, 2023, Director of Communications Altun added:
“The world today is plagued by injustices. Unfortunately, these injustices also entail tremendous cruelty. Today's world is marked by crises, turmoil, and chaos. Under the leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we strive to make this world a fairer place. Our President is attempting to find a solution to the injustice that plagues the world we currently live in, striving to end global tyranny and establish a fairer world while declaring, "The world is bigger than five" and "A fairer world is possible." Today, if Türkiye can play a leading role in the resolution of crises, if it is not only a game-changer but also a game-maker, and if it can exist not only as an island of stability but also as a stabilising power, the epic of July 15, the nation's victory, played a significant role in this."
Director of Communications Altun said that the Century of Türkiye will ensure global peace and stability and allow the nation to live in a more powerful, prestigious, and prosperous society.
Director of Communications Altun paid tribute to the heroes of the Century of Türkiye and thanked his colleagues in the Directorate of Communications, Istanbul Governor's Office, and Üsküdar Municipality for their contributions to the event's organisation.
