Director of Communications Altun: “In addition to protecting the terrorist organisation PKK/PYD, the West has also taken FETO under its wing”

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, "FETO is currently a global terrorist organization. There is no doubt that an international struggle is required against this international terrorist organization that spans a large area."

In his speech at the “International Symposium on the Fight Against FETO”, organised by the Directorate of Communications, Director of Communications Altun stated that, the Fethullahist Terrorist Organisation (FETO) is one of the bloodiest and most dangerous terrorist organizations our country and the world have ever witnessed.

Emphasising that FETO is, without a doubt, principally a terrorist group that is the primary enemy of this nation and state, which flourished by exploiting the values and sentiments of the nation such as religion, education, civil society, and cooperation and is a shady gang that has insidiously infiltrated into the institutions of the state in order to achieve their nefarious goals, Director of Communications Altun said, “FETO is also a radical terrorist organization.”

Director of Communications Altun pointed out that FETO has utilised its enslaved and radicalized militants to penetrate the strategic institutions of states and to exploit the national and moral sensitivities of the country.

Noting that FETO, through establishing parallel structures within states, has become a source of foreign interventions, conspiracies, violence and terrorism, Director of Communications Altun stated:

"The FETO ringleader had instructed his militants to overstep the bounds without making their presence felt in the heart of all the institutions of the country. FETO's primary objective has always been to attract strength and power to its own fronts in all institutions. With the belief that ‘Any path leading to the goal is legitimate,’ this organisation has for years engaged in betrayals against this country and nation in pursuit of its own interests. Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has never given in to FETO's insidious ambitions. Our President was the leader who revealed FETO's true intention and fouled up the order in which they were engaging in shady acts. That's why FETO's infiltrations in the judiciary, police and intelligence began an all-out attack against him and the cadres he led. Our President maintained the process he initiated to purge FETO members from the state, despite all the attempts to prevent it at the time. When it came to the militants of the organization who had infiltrated the Turkish Armed Forces in the extensive FETO clean-up, the desperate terrorists resorted to the coup attempt as a last resort, as we all witnessed. However, on July 15, 2016, the rope that FETO coiled around itself for salvation became entangled in its own feet."

Director of Communications Altun stated, with the leadership of our President and the resolute upright stance of our nation, FETO's coup-like invasion attempt was thwarted.

"It has lead to catastrophic outcomes"

Noting that on July 15, FETO and its brainwashed slaves demonstrated once again that they had no limits when it comes to betrayal and murder, nor will they ever, Director of Communications Altun reminded that they rained down bombs and bullets on our security forces and our beloved nation who stood up to the treacherous coup attempt, they directly attempted to assassinate our President and his family, and they bombarded the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Presidential Palace. Director of Communications Altun commemorated all the martyrs, especially those of July 15, with mercy and gratitude.

Stating that the fight against FETO continues, and emphasising that this bloodthirsty organization, whose massacres, murders and plots know no borders, also has a transnational structure, Director of Communications Altun said:

"FETO is currently a global terrorist organization. There is no doubt that an international struggle is required against the international terrorist organization that spans a large area. This struggle must include the draining of the organization's financial and human resources, the prevention of all types of activity, especially terrorism, and the exposure of FETO’s true, bloody face to the global public. To have a better understanding of FETO, it is necessary to take a closer look at and examine comparable cult-based terrorist organizations that have emerged around the world. The massacres perpetrated by cults founded by names like Charles Manson, Bhagwan Rajneesh, and Jim Jones, who claimed to be the chosen ones, are still fresh in our minds. These deviant cults, composed of brainwashed and radicalized followers, have materially and spiritually exploited, radicalized and driven their followers to commit shady and murderous acts. It has been seen that the apocalyptic beliefs of these cult terrorist organizations lead to catastrophic outcomes if precautions are not taken."

Director of Communications Altun stated that terrorism created by terrorist organizations such as PKK/PYD, DAESH and Boko Haram is manifesting itself in different parts of the world today and FETO is just as deviant a cult and violent as these organisations.

“They suddenly see, hear, and speak no evil”

Director of Communications Altun emphasised that supporting and protecting a terrorist organisation under the guise of combating another terrorist organisation will only add fuel to the fire of global terrorism, stating:

"In addition to protecting the terrorist organisation PKK/PYD, the West has also taken FETO under its wing. The anti-democratic, totalitarian, and terrorist nature of FETO is concealed, particularly in the West, by circles that market the organisation as the face of moderate Islam. Moreover, when it comes to the operations of the terrorist organisation FETO, a factory for systematic radicalisation, Western countries that claim to be fighting radicalisation suddenly see, hear, and speak no evil. On the other hand, I would like to call attention to the fact that the circles that market FETO in the West mask the anti-Semitic discourses of the FETO leader. We must emphasise at every opportunity that FETO, against which Türkiye is fighting resolutely, poses a significant threat to all countries in which it has a foothold.”

FETO poses a significant threat to the security of these societies and states. FETO is a global terrorist organisation, and hence, an international effort must be undertaken in cooperation and solidarity against it. That's why it's in the best interest of every nation and society to halt FETO's activities before it is too late and to take precautions before facing this organisation's destructive nature."

Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that FETO, which dates back to the 1960s, is a terrorist organisation that uses its ostensible activities in the fields of education, economy, media, and civil society as a front and operates behind the scenes on the wheels of betrayal, murder, and conspiracy.

Director of Communications Altun said, "Today, FETO's international activities have significantly weakened owing to the struggle of our state," noting that FETO's activities continue, especially in the Balkans, Europe, and Africa. Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that FETO, which presents itself as a so-called 'civilian' and 'clean' organisation in these countries, is attempting to generate economic gains and income for the organisation's devious plans.

Highlighting how the organisation has forged close ties with some political parties in the countries where it operates and attempts to maintain close contact with political elites, Director of Communications Altun noted that FETO's goal is also to disguise crimes like money laundering and tax evasion.

In response to Türkiye's warnings and calls for action, Director of Communication Altun said the countries that took action against FETO removed a serious threat to their own future, society, and state.

Declaring that the time for United States, where the FETO ringleader is hiding out with his militants, to adhere to the requirements of international law and bilateral agreements has come and passed, Director of Communications Altun emphasised that FETO harmed Türkiye’s foreign policy and attempted to sabotage international security and regional stability.

"We must say there will be no conspiracy against this nation"

Director of Communications Altun emphasised that the international community and states should take the necessary steps against the threat posed by FETO and increase their cooperation with Türkiye to combat this terrorist organisation.

Noting that Türkiye's fight against FETO continues uninterruptedly and resolutely, not only at home, but also in the international arena, both legally and diplomatically, Director of Communications Altun said that the Ministry of Justice has requested the extradition of 1,022 FETO members from 109 countries and the Turkish Maarif Foundation took over 220 schools from the terrorist organization in 19 countries.

Director of Communications Altun stated that the activities of FETO schools in over 40 countries have been halted and the National Intelligence Organization has secured the extradition of more than 100 FETO-affiliated individuals.

Stating that the Directorate of Communications continues to conduct public diplomacy activities against the FETO structure around the world, utilizing all means and capabilities of communication, Director of Communications Altun said July 15 should never be forgotten.

Noting, “We must say there will be no conspiracy against this nation,” Director of Communications Altun said this dangerous structure, however, is still not designated as a terrorist organization by many other countries and international organizations, especially the United States, the European Union and Interpol.

Director of Communications Altun said some countries might view the FETO ringleader and followers as a useful tool against Türkiye.

"They will return to be held accountable"

Pointing out that as Türkiye began to emerge as a regional and global power, and as Türkiye grew stronger, FETO's influence in the international arena began to wane Director of Communications Altun said FETO is now in a very tight grip.

Director of Communications Altun stated that this treacherous terrorist organisation, which previously stole intelligence for other countries and served as those countries' fifth branch, gradually lost value to those other countries.

Stating that this filthy terrorist group is currently attempting to market itself to other countries by disseminating disinformation and poor fake news in third-rate media platforms Director of Communications Altun said:

"FETO militants have placed their hopes in a change of government in Türkiye as a result of our President's decisive fight against FETO abroad. Although some people had hope for FETO and its members, we are confident that our country will not give terrorist organisations a chance or a reason to hope. Individuals who purchase a return ticket to Türkiye from a country they have fled in the belief that those who give them hope would win the upcoming election will be once again disappointed. Please keep in mind that the members of this terrorist organization will eventually return to this country, they will return to be held accountable, but only as a terrorist criminal."

Director of Communications Altun said they will be right after FETO members and will not stop fighting until every member of FETO has been brought to justice.
