The Presidency's Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, condemned the Israeli government's continued use of illegitimate means against journalists in a post on his social media account.
Director of Communications Altun stated the following in his post:
“Israel has continued to use illegitimate means and massacre journalists who provide global updates on the situation in Gaza for days, disregarding international law.
We condemn the Israeli government's recent use of rubber bullets, gas, and smoke bombs against journalists covering the hostage swap.
Israel must immediately cease its attacks on innocent Palestinians, journalists, healthcare professionals and aid workers and comply with international law.
As the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, we are keeping a close eye on the condition of the journalists who were attacked.”
