The Presidency's Deputy Head of Communications, Ferhat Pirinççi, spoke at the panel, "From Roots to Horizons: The Story of Türkiye's Rising Defence Industry," held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Communications.
Deputy Head of Communications Pirinççi pointed out that the panel was also for the launch of the book "From Roots to Horizons: The Story of Türkiye's Rising Defence Industry," authored by the Directorate of Communications, and highlighted the importance of the book.
Deputy Head of Communications Pirinççi noted that the defence industry, serving as the foundation for deterrence against contemporary threats, was an important factor in determining and strengthening Türkiye's position in the international system, and continued:
"Domestic production in our defence industry is something we have frequently highlighted, especially regarding the work done in the last 20 years. We are talking about a domestic production rate reaching 80 per cent in the defence industry. This demonstrates the earnest determination of our engineers and managers. With the vision of the Century of Türkiye and the driving force of our national technology initiative, production is underway in every field, from UAVs to UCAVs, radar systems to national combat aircraft, air defence systems, ships, underwater and surface platforms, and missiles. Consequently, Türkiye has risen to become the 11th country in the world that exports the most in the defence industry sector."

Deputy Head of Communications Pirinççi stated that the defence industry has reached its current position thanks to its pioneers and heroes and said, "The success of our defence industry today is certainly no coincidence; on the contrary, it is a manifestation of developments over many years and, in particular, of the vision of recent times. Türkiye, which has demonstrated effective performance both on the ground and at the table, has become an indispensable actor for the security of both our region and the world. This has become especially evident in the recent developments unfolding across our region.
Emphasising that Türkiye has once again strengthened its role both domestically and in the region with the goal of a "terror-free Türkiye", Deputy Head of Communications Pirinççi said:
"Türkiye is seriously involved in resolving the issues in the region and is taking steps to establish regional stability. The technological strength and capability of Türkiye, particularly its strength in the defence industry, are crucial for eliminating instability in the region and creating an area of prosperity and stability that extends in ever-widening circles, starting with our neighbours. The strength of Türkiye, its defence industry, and its military power serve as both a source of hope and a guarantee for our region and our counterparts."
Deputy Head of Communications Pirinççi stated that, as the Directorate of Communications, they consider it a duty to tell Türkiye's story as accurately as possible and noted that sharing success stories increasingly serves as a powerful source of motivation that spreads into other fields.
