The Defence Industry Executive Committee convened under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss the issues on its agenda.
During the meeting held at the Presidential Complex, issues related to adding new domestic and national systems to the ones used by the Turkish Armed Forces and security units. Various projects related to communication and information systems, ammunition and missiles, various platforms, modernizations, and new technologies were concluded within this scope.
At the meeting in which it was underlined that the Turkish defence industry had been targeted with explicit and hidden embargos, the importance of working more strongly and systematically, inter-institutional coordination and cost-effective management under the leadership of President Erdoğan was pointed out.
It was stated that “Türkiye, with its determination in the design, development and manufacture of domestic and national systems and technologies, will resolutely move forward on its path towards a fully independent defence industry”.
Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Treasury and Finance Lütfi Elvan, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler, Director of Defence Industries İsmail Demir, and Chief of the Cabinet to the President Hasan Doğan were present at the meeting.
