During the ceremony held in Islamabad as part of the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the accompanying delegation to Pakistan on the occasion of the 7th Meeting of the Türkiye-Pakistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, the Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar of Pakistan signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Media and Communication" and the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Public Relations and Communication" between the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Media and Communication" signed between the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan aims to further develop the relations between the two countries and enhance close cooperation in the fields of media and communication. In accordance with the agreement, the two countries will endeavour to promote and develop joint efforts in the fields of communication, public diplomacy, media, and broadcasting.
The "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Public Relations and Communication," signed between the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan as part of the aforementioned visit, aims to enhance joint efforts and develop cooperation in the field of public relations and strategic communication between Türkiye and Pakistan.
According to the agreements, the two countries will endeavour to promote joint efforts based on reciprocity and mutual benefit, subject to the provisions of the memorandum of understanding and the laws, rules, regulations, and national policies in force in their respective countries.
The MoUs signed envisage the exchange of information and experience between Türkiye and Pakistan, sharing of best practices, cooperation on initiatives and projects of mutual benefit and interest, organisation of conferences, training programmes and workshops, and promotion of the role of technology to facilitate the processing of citizen requests.
The two MoUs signed in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, will take effect as of today and remain in force for three years.
