At the ‘Conquest of Istanbul Special Concert’ organized by the Directorate of Communications on the occassion the 567th anniversary of Istanbul’s conquest, musicians Esat Kabaklı, Mustafa Yıldızdoğan and İbrahim Sadri shared the joy of conquest with the listeners by singing marches and folk songs and reciting poems.
The Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, which held several events om the occasion of the 567th anniversary of Istanbul’s conquest, organized a concert with the spirit of the conquest.
During the Conquest of Istanbul Special Concert, which was broadcast on the Youtube channels and social media accounts of the Presidency and the Directorate of Communications, Esat Kabaklı, Mustafa Yıldızdoğan and İbrahim Sadri took the stage and shared the joy of conquest with the listeners by singing marches and folk songs and reciting poems.
Turkish Folk Music singer Esat Kabaklı sang the songs “Conquest Anthem’, ‘Bil Oğlum’, ‘Plevne Anthem’, ‘Kerkük Zindanı’, ‘Yemen Türküsü’, ‘Er Meydanı’, ‘Çanakkale Türküsü, ‘Altın Hızma’, ‘Malazgirt'ten Başlar Türk'ün Seferi’, ‘Sivastopol Anthem’ and ‘Bu Bayrak’ and recited the poem ‘Bir Mucize Olaydı (I Wish There was a Miracle)’.
Celebrating the conquest of İstanbul, Kabaklı said: “Today is the day of the conquest of Istanbul. Happily, we have such great ancestors and fathers that have given us this beautiful city. May Allah bless them. May Allah rest their souls. We as a nation are the addressee of the Prophet Muhammad’s hadith, ‘Istanbul will definitely be conquered, what a great commander who conquered it’.”
'‘Our President exerted great efforts for this city’'
Speaker and poet İbrahim Sadri also recited the poems of ‘Merhaba (Hello)’, ‘Canım İstanbul (My Dear Istanbul)’, ‘Sürgün Ülkeden (Exiled from the Country)’ and ‘Dua (Prayer)’.
Stating that Istanbul is a beloved city, Sadri noted that this ancient city continued to open its new face and windows every day dating back centuries up to now.
Sadri said, “Our distinguished President has exerted and will continue to exert great efforts for this city. We all very well know his services for this city. May Allah make these services permanent.”
Mustafa Yıldızdoğan sang the songs ‘Ölürüm Türkiyem’, ‘Şehitler Ölmez’, ‘Kızıl Elmam’, ‘Gittiler’, ‘Dile Gel Anadolu’, ‘Mucize’, ‘Senin Umurunda Mı’, ‘Al Beyazım’, ‘Bu Vatan Kimin’, ‘Türkümüz Bizim’.
Speaking at the end of the program, Yıldızdoğan said, "We are self-sufficient. This noble and sacred nation showed the miracle on July 15. Against the coronavirus surrounding the world, this nation has become one, we have come together, we have stayed in our homes, but with the consciousness of the nation and society, we have overcome it with little damage.”
Expressing that Istanbul is love, Yıldızdoğan indicated that everyone united and became one at the Istanbul Conquest Feast, and said, "There is mercy in togetherness, while there is suffering in separation. We will be one, we will be together, and we will be powerful and prosperous Turkey.”
Visuals from Istanbul were featured throughout the concert. The concert, followed by thousands of people, lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
