President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called national archer Mete Gazoz to congratulate him on winning the world championship.
National archer Mete Gazoz won the gold medal by defeating Canadian Eric Peters 6-4 in the recurve men's final at the World Archery Championships in Berlin, Germany.
After the final competition, President Erdoğan congratulated Mete Gazoz over the phone and told him, "I kiss you on the eyes. I believe that after this victory, you will achieve the same result at the Olympics. Both personally and as a nation, we wish for your success to continue. I hope to see you when you return to Türkiye."
Mete Gazoz thanked President Erdoğan and said, "I became the world champion and won a gold medal. Hopefully, I will win another gold medal in the Olympics next year."
