Directorate of Communications organized Communication Strategy Workshop on Operation Peace Spring.
During the workshop chaired by the Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, strategic communication activities were discussed for the national and international public to gain an accurate understanding of the Operation Peace Spring.
In this context, evaluation of all relevant media and methods, effective planning of cooperation between agencies and coordination of anti-propaganda and public diplomacy activities were also among the issues addressed to support the success of the operation on the ground as well as in the field of communication.
The workshop also focused on eliciting the humanitarian dimension of the operation along with the military developments, actively struggling against disinformation in press and media through the use of social media, reacting to current and potential counter-arguments in the fastest manner through all channels and providing information for international media in different languages.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz, Chief Advisors to the President Gülnur Aybet, İlnur Çevik, Fecir Alptekin, Mücahit Küçükyılmaz, Saadet Oruç, Members of Presidential Board of Security and Foreign Policies Çağrı Erhan and Burhanettin Duran, President of Red Crescent Kerem Kınık, President of Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency Mehmet Güllüoğlu, President of Turkish Maarif Foundation Birol Akgün attended the workshop as well as representatives from Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Interior, Directorate of Communications and National Intelligence Organization.
Specialists in international relations and public diplomacy from academia, media organizations and think tanks also attended the workshop.
