Citizens send CIMER messages of support for wildfire fighting efforts

Many citizens sent messages to the Presidency's Communication Centre (CIMER) in support of the fight against wildfires that are still raging in some regions, particularly in the provinces of Antalya and Muğla. Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun posted on his social media account some of the encouraging messages addressed to CIMER.

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun conveyed expressions of support sent to CIMER by citizens in a statement posted on his social media account, emphasising that the nation was well conscious of how intensely the state fought to extinguish the fires. Altun noted, “These are just a few of the thank-you messages our President and our teams who are operating the field have received. Forest fires will be extinguished as rapidly as possible, and we will preserve our Green Homeland.”.

According to the messages, an Istanbul resident advised building large water tanks on mountain hills with forests, while remarking that the state quickly executed the required precautions and services during disasters.

A resident of Bartın expressed gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as ministers and MPs for always standing by the people in the face of pandemics and natural disasters.

Another individual, writing from Antalya and lamenting their inability to participate in firefighting operations due to having young kids, remarked, “I would run for help if it weren't for my three young children. I could still house people who have become destitute, cook for them, and receive them as guests.”

If called for duty, a former firefighting staff pledged to come to the rescue without a moment of hesitation.

An Izmir resident thanked the fire crews for their rapid response, effort, and dedication after witnessing them put out a wildfire that had erupted in the woods in 15 minutes.

Another citizen expressed gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan initially, and then to all state organisations fighting the wildfires in the message, and noted, “If any assistance is required, I would like to be around. Do not be fazed by those who manage perceptions on social media and strive to break the state and nation's unity.

“In the event of necessity, I will take honour and pride in offering voluntary service unconditionally at points where my state requires me,” said another citizen in the message.
