Presidency's Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, said, ''We place great importance on providing CIMER with the most cutting-edge technological resources and expanding it as a potent instrument to fulfil the demands of our people in the communication age. We are transforming CIMER into a more efficient, more effective and more executive structure through artificial intelligence initiatives."

As a communication bridge between the nation and state, the Presidency's Communication Centre (CIMER) attracted an increasing amount of interest in 2023.

The number of applications to CIMER, which seeks to facilitate the use of citizens' rights to petition and information and expand the participatory governance approach to all societal groups, climbed by 23 percent in 2023 to reach 7 million 650 thousand.

In 2023, 253 thousand applications for gratitude, opinions and suggestions were made to CIMER, where citizens submitted not only their complaints and demands but also their thoughts, opinions and suggestions on various topics.

2 million applications to the Earthquake Emergency feature

The "Share Your Dream for the Century of Türkiye" platform received 39 thousand applications since it was launched to gather public opinions and suggestions on the Republic's 100th anniversary, which has been commemorated nationwide with a variety of events held all year long.

In the first 3 months, 2 million citizens applied to the "CIMER Earthquake Emergency" feature and the "CIMER Call Centre," which were put into service on the same day following the Kahramanmaraş-centred earthquakes on February 6, last year.

These applications were shared with the personnel of public institutions on the ground, and concerted efforts were made to address the citizens' urgent needs as quickly as possible.

"CIMER is undergoing a transformation to become more effective, executive, and efficient"

Presidency's Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, stated that they place great importance on CIMER, which is a communication bridge between the state and the nation, and that CIMER is one of the most effective tools enabling citizens to participate in governance.

Emphasising the need for state institutions to read and assess the expectations and opinions of citizens in order to make the right decisions, Director of Communications Altun noted that CIMER also serves an essential purpose in this regard.

In this regard, Director of Communications Altun emphasised that CIMER should not be regarded solely as a platform for complaints but rather as a mechanism that empowers citizens to participate in governance and that the opinions and suggestions of citizens have an important share behind some important projects and improvements in the public sector.

Pointing out that CIMER, which is a pioneer in the field of public communication and an exemplary practice all over the world, is one of the most important instruments that embody the understanding of participatory democracy in accordance with the means and spirit of the age, Director of Communications Altun said, "We place great importance on providing CIMER with the most cutting-edge technological resources and expanding it as a potent instrument to fulfil the demands of our people in the communication age. We are transforming CIMER into a more efficient, more effective and more executive structure through artificial intelligence initiatives."

Director of Communications Altun said, "The CIMER Earthquake Emergency feature, which we promptly activated following the disaster of the century we suffered last year, has been extremely effective in meeting all kinds of requests in a very short time, both in search and rescue operations and in healing the wounds of our earthquake victims. With this system, we have a powerful instrument to maintain direct contact with our citizens, and we have worked diligently to meet the demands of the region in a short period of time."

Pointing out that CIMER is one of the powerful instruments to make the Century of Türkiye the century of communication, Director of Communications Altun said:

"Regardless of their status, it is critical that administrators, public institutions, and organisations representing the state promptly and accurately assess the needs and expectations of the public. The heightened significance that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attributes to public relations initiatives presents a tremendous opportunity for us. Our state, under the leadership of our President, consistently and fully supports its citizens. In this direction, we will strive with the utmost diligence to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of CIMER in the Century of Türkiye.
