Antalya hosts historic summit

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Ukraine met in Antalya for the highest level talks between the two countries since the war began.

In the peace talks, which was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba negotiated for a settlement.

In a statement he posted on social media, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said, “At a time of great need for peace, met with my Russian and Ukrainian counterparts Lavrov and Kuleba in a tripartite format on the margins of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. We sincerely hope that peace prevails in our region.”. Minister of Foreign Affairs Çavuşoğlu will hold separate press conferences with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which will be attended by 19 heads of state and government, 73 ministers, and representatives of 42 international organisations, will kick off a day after the summit.
