Altun: “We welcome the decision by UK authorities to prosecute foreign funders of the YPG/PKK”

Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun made a statement regarding the investigation faced by the family of a person joining the terrorist organization YPG from Britain on suspicion of funding and supporting terrorism, indicating, “We welcome the decision by UK authorities to prosecute foreign funders of the YPG/PKK.”

Altun shared a post on his Twitter account, in which he touched upon the investigation faced by the family of a person joining the terrorist organization YPG from Britain on suspicion of funding and supporting terrorism.

Recalling in his post that many Europeans have joined the ranks of PKK’s Syrian branch, the YPG, in northern Syria, Altun noted the following:

“It is long overdue for European governments to stop the flow of foreign terrorist fighters and prosecute such individuals for joining a terror group. The PKK/YPG threatens Turkey, regional stability and European security as well. Our allies must end their support for this group and stop turning a blind eye to European citizens joining a terror organization. The PKK/YPG must be treated just as the other terror groups like DAESH.

Cutting off the money is vital to the fight against terrorism of all kinds. We welcome the decision by UK authorities to prosecute foreign funders of the YPG/PKK.”
