Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun supported the campaign, launched under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan yesterday with the slogan "We are self-sufficient, Turkey", in an exclusive broadcast on the TRT.
Stating that the world was faced with a pandemic that knows no limits, Altun said that Turkey took precautions against the pandemic earlier than many other countries before it crossed over its borders thanks to President Erdoğan’s visionary approach. Altun added that the spread of the pandemic was kept at a minimum level and that they continued to take comprehensive measures.
Indicating that they were exerting efforts to prevent the spread of the pandemic along with all relevant institutions under the leadership of President Erdoğan, Altun said that the nation was the most important power in this process. Altun stated it was essential that the citizens followed the precautions in a more conscious and strict manner with each passing day, and made the following remarks:
“In this sense, our nation's approach is indeed beyond all praise. In this process, thank God, we have used every means available in the field of healthcare. We have also seen the return on investments that have been made to date. In addition, we have stood by our people from all walks of life with our economic and social support packages, and we continue to do so. Thank God, we have displayed the best examples of solidarity in this process again as we have always done in difficult times so far, and we will continue to do so.”
Reiterating that President Erdoğan led a National Solidarity Campaign with the slogan “We are self-sufficient, Turkey”, Altun said the campaign was aimed at ensuring that the state and the nation stood in solidarity as well as providing additional support to those in need, who could somehow suffer, through the measures taken against the coronavirus.
"We call on all our citizens to support this solidarity initiative and, thank God, we witness that our citizens are rushing to this campaign, because today is the day of solidarity, and kindness runs in the blood of our nation. We have set and are still setting an example to the world with support from all walks of life, ranging from the youth to the elderly,” said Altun.
Stating that the nobility of the nation was shown as an example to the world in all difficult times, Altun said he believed that all these tough days would be left behind as soon as possible and that the unity, solidarity, and cooperation exhibited by our august nation would be remembered proudly when we look back.
"We are responsible for ensuring that these aids are delivered to those in need in the right way.”
Altun said that our nation was generous, devoted and helpful and stood in solidarity with those who were in need and who felt the draught, and commented as follows:
"We, as the state, are responsible for ensuring that these aids are delivered to those in need in the right way. Our state will meet this emerging demand in society under the leadership of our President. We are running a coordination activity in a sense and we are exerting efforts to conduct the coordination of this assistance process. Even if some people try to hinder this solidarity, our nation is in full unity and will continue to remain so no matter what they say. Our people will stand by their brothers and sisters who support the campaign, and all our citizens involved in this process will have exhibited an exemplary approach to the world in this regard. We are showing national solidarity here. National solidarity means that each member of the nation stands by those who feel the draught, regardless of their class, ideology, politics, and identity, during such a calamity that the entire world is going through. Thank God, we are doing this. This noble campaign launched by our President also serves for it. I would like to thank our citizens who act sensibly in this sense."
