Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun posted a thread on his Twitter account about the two-day visit to Pakistan for the 6th meeting of High-Level Cooperation Council and said Turkey was committed to strengthening its relationship with Pakistan under the leadership of President Erdoğan.
Altun noted the following:
“We are grateful for the support of our Pakistani brothers in international forums. Turkey and Pakistan share the goal of increased economic ties with a $5 billion trade volume by 2023. We are cooperating in defense and energy among others. We are ready to contribute positively to various infrastructure and energy projects including renewables.
Pakistan recently eased visa requirements for Turkish citizens. Yunus Emre Institute operates in Lahore and will open another center in Karachi. Our development agency TIKA also has great projects underway. These will allow our cultural exchanges to deepen our relationship.
We are determined to develop our brotherly relationship with Pakistan for our mutual security as well as economic and cultural development. Turkish-Pakistani relationship will not only benefit both nations but improve international peace and security.”
