Altun: “The strong will of our nation is capable of teaching the necessary lesson to the coups, coup plotters, their foreign advocates, and their collaborators in the political sphere.”

Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, “The strong will of our nation is capable of teaching the necessary lesson to the coups, coup plotters, their foreign advocates and their collaborators in the political sphere. Our august nation has both the say and the decision.”

In a post on his Twitter account, Altun remarked on the 40th anniversary of the September 12, 1980 coup.

Expressing that the September 12 bloody coup of 40 years ago etched in memories was an important event that embodied many pains and difficulties in the nation’s struggle for independence and democracy, Altun said, “Understanding today requires an understanding of May 27, September 12, February 28, July 15 correctly. The unique struggle of the nation, which protected its will, against coups and coup plotters was carried from the past to July 15, and this consciousness and faith always brought the destruction of coup plotters, enemies of the national will, and coup lovers. Today, we remember with great sadness the people we had lost in the climate of violence escalated to invoke the pretext of the coup prior to September 12.”

Underlining that Turkey was experiencing the most powerful period in its history in the fight against the coups and coup plotters under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s leadership, Altun noted:

“Despite all, even today we watch, with great concern, certain circles, which fuel the flames of enmity against national will on the pretext of condemning coups. We know that those circles, who nurture enmity against national will at home and abroad alike, are driven mostly by their aspiration to hinder the great, strong, and fully-independent Turkey’s progress and its race in becoming a global power. We also know that our nation would not let such enmity have its way.

The strong will of our nation is capable of teaching the necessary lesson to the coups, coup plotters, their foreign advocates, and their collaborators in the political sphere. Our august nation has both the say and the decision.”
