In a post he shared on his Twitter account, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun made a statement regarding a young man named Barış Çakan, who has lost his life during a fight that broke out, as he warned a group of persons for listening to loud music, while the adhan was being called at the weekend in Ankara.
Stating that everybody has been deeply saddened by the death of Barış Çakan, Altun said that the sorrowful incident that occurred has been thoroughly investigated and that the required judicial process has been initiated.
Altun pointed out that the deliberate manipulation of the real reason behind this tragic incident by certain circles and the persistent reflection of the incident as "the killing of a young man who was listening to a Kurdish song" has indicated that there were efforts aimed at sacrificing the fact for the sake of a dirty perception operation, and made the following remarks:
"It can never be considered that the false news, provocations and perception management activities that target our social dynamics are independent of the defamation and slander campaigns that have been recently conducted in a systematic manner against our security forces, which ensure public security. Our state will never allow public peace and security to be weakened, false news and perception operations to occupy our minds and take us captives. We will be following up this shameful game played upon our nation and we will take all necessary steps quickly. The State of the Republic of Turkey is the shelter, protector and servant of our 83 million citizens. We will not allow evil forces that aim to spoil the atmosphere of brotherhood and peace by joining hands with our nation for our social peace and security.”
