Turkish Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun noted that the government of the Republic of Turkey was not the enemy, but the protector of the Kurds. Indicating that there was no difference for Turkey no matter what the source of terror was, Altun said: "Terror is terror and must be eliminated at its source and this is what Turkey is exactly doing in Syria."
Turkish Presidency’s Director of Communications Altun reacted on Twitter to US President Donald Trump’s posts on Syria.
In his message, Altun underlined: "The government of the Republic of Turkey is not the enemy, but the protector of the Kurds. Turkey has no problems with Kurds. Our problem is with the PKK terrorist organization and its extensions in Syria.” Altun also highlighted that PYD and YPG were terrorist organizations and Turkey would continue its fight against terrorism in a determined manner.
Altun also shared President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s remarks on June 26, 2015, saying: “I call out to the world: No matter what it takes, we will never allow a state to be founded in the north of Syria and in the south of Turkey,” and he also tweeted:
"Our national security is essential for us. This is the main element determining our fight against terrorism. There is no difference for us whether the source of terrorism is ideological, religious or ethnical. Terror is terror and must be eliminated at its source. This is what Turkey is exactly doing in Syria.”
